Design Engineer

MGM Consulting Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Design Engineer to join our team. A successful candidate will have experience in civil engineering and have significant understanding of grading, servicing, and stormwater management designs associated with approval processes throughout the GTA. Ideally, the successful candidate will be expected to work successfully within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members and customers.

Responsibilities:

  • – Prepare conceptual engineering designs and Functional Servicing Reports,
  • – Prepare detailed grading, servicing, and sediment and erosion control drawings using AutoCAD,
  • – Prepare earthworks calculations,
  • – Pepare and review stormwater management calculations and hydrologic and hydraulic models using industry software,
  • – Prepare construction cost estimates,
  • – Track and coordinate the approval process with approval authorities,
  • – Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously,
  • – Ensure the quality of engineering drawings while maintaining project deadlines,
  • – Ongoing monitoring of project budgets.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • – An undergraduate degree in civil engineering from an accredited university OR a 3-year civil technology diploma from an accredited college,
  • – 3+ years of experience and understanding of the engineering theory related to sanitary, storm, and watermain design,
  • – Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil3D required,
  • – Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc., is highly beneficial,
  • – Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to maintain professional and effective working relationships with project Owner, Client, and teams from other discipline’s,
  • – Strong organizational, personnel, project task, and time management skills.
